The Process - how it works
1. "The Customer" to inform Cellmark of the details of individuals to be tested - their full name, address and date of birth.
2. Cellmark will register the samples and will produce dedicated sampling kits which will be sent to the nominated sampling location (normally "The Customer's" medical facilities).
3. "The Customer's" medical personnel will undertake sampling and send each DNA sample separately to Cellmark for profiling, along with the relevant identification paperwork.
4. Cellmark will generate a DNA profile for each sample using “Identifiler” using the following 16 Short Tandem Repeat (STR) markers. These 16 STRs are used by international medical and law enforcement agencies worldwide.
| Amelogenin | DS16539 | D18S51 | D19S433 |
| D21S11 | D2S1338 | D3S1358 | D8S1179 |
| FGA | TH01 | VWA | D13S317 |
| D5S818 | D7S820 | CSF1PO | TPOX |
5. DNA reports, identification paperwork and physical samples will be despatched to "The Customer" (where they can be stored until required) within 10 days of receiving the samples at Cellmark's laboratory.
6. Cellmark will keep copies of the profiles generated and the identification paperwork for 3 months, after which time they will be destroyed.
